Yeehaw, we went to Vernal with our very good and TRUSTING friends the Jahns. Clint's big elk hunt is outside of Vernal and of course he has to scout this new territory that we've never been to. We warned the Jahn's that we did not know what to expect on this trip......we just didn't know how many things would actually happen!! Michelle summed it up when she started singing the theme song to Gilligan's Island 'a three hour tour' I couldn't get it out of my head while we kept driving and driving and driving....... our three hour tour turned into something like 6 hours to get there!!! And that's with Clint forgetting to stop to fill up a trailer with water while in town (I won't mention names on who didn't fill up with water at home). No need to worry with my mighty tracker, map reader husband...... we'll just take this little dirt road (with no signs) that will get us to a campground the back way!! The first mountain of a hill we came to there was a local guy coming down, he pulled over out of the way just to watch us dumb-ass trailer owners try to get up this hill...... Clint made it (no problem he says) and Jeremy stopped at a stand still thinking Clint was out of his mind!!! (I think he's a little right)
Then we have a second hill, with the local yokel still following us saying "don't do it!" So this Yahoo guy goes up first thinking he'll pull our truck and trailer combo up with his truck if we don't make it....... We proceed up the hill, making it just fine, when we come up on the stupid idiot from Vernal standing OUTSIDE his truck right in our way!!!!!! Clint was not stopping knowing if we lose our momentum we really will be stuck. So this old guy is running to get in his truck and get out of the way, with Clint, me and Michelle in our truck (Jeremy is still at the bottom in his truck I'm sure just imagining the worst) yelling for him to hurry up and MOVE! By the skin of his nose he got out of the way, and said to Clint "that's some powerful truck you got" So Clint got out and rode down with this guy to Jeremys truck to ride and give moral support while Jeremy made the climb up the 2 steep hills with his setup. Needless to say Jeremy can do anything on a dirt road now, Clint broke him in on Utah back roads with no mercy! :)

Sadly we had to head home on Sunday, I don't think anyone wanted to start the long trip home. We ran into a storm system with some awful wind. Michelle said she just happened to look out her window at their trailer and saw their awning un-raveling!! Yikes! They pulled over and thought they had it fixed, until driving a little more it did it again..... So this time we turned around to come and help, and our true redneck colors were flying high! Here's some pictures of Clint and Jeremy "fixing" the awning.....

That's right, they used duct tape!! The quicker-fixer-upper. Seriously, it can't get any more red necked than that! Clint said next ride on the shoulders he's on top, look out people! :) Until next time! I hope the Jahn's are still talking to us after this trip......
